Cathcart is a contemporary figurative artist living and working in Liverpool. She has exhibited internationally and her work is held in private collections in London, New York and Budapest. Cathcart’s work is concerned with anonymity and familiarity; using recycled images of faces, she’s interested in how forgotten images can be re-purposed in her paintings. In particular, creating situations where the viewer can feel familiarity with collections of faces, that are often entirely fictional.
