Alyson is an Atelier trained Artist. Her creative practice is based in art historical and contemporary art theory. Alyson’s practice has long explored the relationship between nature, spirituality and the human condition. Most recently her artworks reflect upon humanity’s increasing disconnection with the natural environment, despite our deep ancestral relationship with the land and our ultimate destiny to become part of nature itself. The final Artworks are individually unique, often melancholic landscapes which are slow to give up their secrets.
Alyson’s work is of particular interest to photographic collectors. She works using 19th Century Ambretype Wet Plate Collodion process before printing on wood. Images are then painted both digitally and with oils – using atelier derived skills. These works are stunning and resonant with light.
Alyson’s work is currently exhibited in the National Open Art Exhibition in London, Manchester, Lancashire, Stockholm and the USA.
