Through a series of studies of the human head I am attempting to
convey psychological landscapes, emotions beneath the surface
and the fragility of the human condition.
I paint or draw from source material including photographs of women ‘labelled’ mad, queer or just plain
bad, subverting the traditional form of portraiture to challenge notions of identity, gender and what is sanity.
After many years of working in mental health services I went to University and obtained a 1:1 in Fine Art and have exhibited and sold work both nationally and internationally.
